CRITERIA brings together an exclusive collection of modern furniture, art, and design objects from around the world. The designers, both established and at the pioneering stage of their work, are based in New York, Los Angeles, London, Milan, France, Portugal, Morocco, Sweden and Australia. All have been individually selected for their progressive, innovative and experimental approach to design thinking and their commitment to creating high-quality craft.
CRITERIA is part-gallery, part-showroom and strives to be a centre for design; a place where designers and artists can explore ideas in design and art, and a place, where those who are passionate about the creation, collection and celebration of objects of beauty can enjoy an ever evolving and carefully curated selection of works known as the CRITERIA COLLECTION.
CRITERIA’s founder Rachael Fry was destined for a career that celebrated design. Hailing from Palm Springs, California, Rachael’s early influences were the region’s modern architecture, interiors and furniture. This inspired her to study at the prestigious Parsons School of Design where she developed the skills to practise as an Art Director in New York.
It was here, in New York, that Rachael furthered her passion for furniture and lighting and a fascination for the work of contemporary artists and designers who display experimental interpretations of designed living that would inform the creation of CRITERIA COLLECTION.
Upon moving to Australia, Rachael realised that much of the exciting talent she had followed from both New York, and for that matter the rest of the world, was not represented in this country. Rachael soon began curating a collection of these modern works, and in 2013, alongside her partner Amon Carson, CRITERIA was formed.
