From iconic lighting to cherished wooden robots, American designer David Weeks takes a handcrafted approach to his work, driven by the belief that design must hold universal appeal. Originally from Athens, Georgia, David Weeks studied painting and sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he earned a BFA in 1990. He worked in the studio of New York jeweler Ted Muehling before founding David Weeks Studio in 1996. In the years since, the designer has gained critical acclaim for his innovative lighting, furniture, household products and toys. In the fall of 2013, David Weeks Studio opened its first standalone atelier at 38 Walker Street in TriBeCa, New York.
