The G10 Collection, designed by Greta M. Grossman in 1950, is another of her undiscovered designs. The lamp collection is characterised by its distinctive lampshade, giving the space a pleasant light, as well as its rough surface and contrasting polished brass details, which are all defining the lamps unique look. The collection, consisting of a floor lamp and a pendant, has a refined luxurious charm combined with an industrial character, which gives an expression of a classic yet contemporary design.
Grossman was highly influenced by European Modernism which had been imported to the US by influential architects such as Walter Gropius (founder of the Bauhaus) and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Grossman, in turn, played a significant role in defining the aesthetic of mid-century Californian Modernism.
Today, Grossman's product designs are highly collectible and are sold at auctions all around the world. Grossman's products are unique, modern classic designs.
